Definition In art, a model is a person who allows themselves to be observed by one or more artists or students for the purpose of creating a work involving all or part of the human body. Fine arts or visual arts schools often employ models in teaching. The artistic disciplines that most commonly use models are drawing, painting, photography, and sculpture.
Characteristics A model can be called a "live model" as opposed to a non-animated model, often a drawing, painting, or sculpture.
